A Word from Our Pastor
“There is no other way of salvation than Jesus Christ and His gospel. Therefore, the church must believe in Jesus and proclaim Jesus.”
Looking at John the Baptist, he prepared the way of Jesus by proclaiming the Word of God.
Through a message of repentance, through the urgency of the Kingdom, through rebirth in baptism, and through making disciples is how he prepared.
We are called to prepare in the same way.
To become ‘a voice of one calling in the wilderness,’ preparing the way of the coming Christ.
Proclaiming the gospel, and living the life of a disciple-making witness.
Until the Lord returns, we will be a church that prepares the way for Jesus, proclaiming His gospel to the world.

Austin VOW Community Church
Our Vision
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”
VOW Community Church stands for Voice of Wilderness.
‘The voice of one calling in the wilderness’ was the mission of John the Baptist as he prepared the way for the coming Christ.
Therefore, anticipating the return of Christ, this church proclaims Jesus and the gospel to our people and to all nations —
a community pledged (VOW) to that mission.
Ministry Philosophy
Worship
Voice of Worship
Worship is the essence and heart of the church. When worship collapses, it is no longer the church. Today's worship faces real dangers — worship centered on people, worship tainted with falsehood and pretense, worship dulled by habit and routine, even worship that unwittingly bows to idols. What this age needs is not ‘new worship’ but a ‘healthy reformation’ of worship. We pray that we will continually offer the worship God seeks: in spirit and truth, free in the Lord, filled with the Word, and lived out in life.
Discipleship
Voice of the Word
The church stands on the Word of God. The Word is the standard and wisdom of life. The Word is comfort and encouragement. The Word is strength and power. Above all, God's Word is light — life to us. Therefore the church must learn and teach the Word, and must live by it. Without the Word, there is no church. We pray we would be a church that loves the Word.
Ministry
Variety of Works
The church is a community of disciples carrying out the work of God. God uses the church and uses His people, and He gives a wide variety of gifts for this purpose. So the church must work. The saints must serve diligently — partnering together and at times dividing the work according to gifts. When we cooperate in many works with many gifts, God's wondrous plans are fulfilled. We pray we would be a church that healthily serves through varied ministries according to its gifts.
Mission
Voice of Witness
Mission is the greatest command on earth — not optional but obligatory for every believer. Jesus went first in mission: this is the incarnate Jesus, the crucified Jesus. Therefore the church and its people must take part in mission. There is no other gospel than the gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray we would be a church that wholeheartedly bears witness to the gospel.
Fellowship
Community
The church inevitably loves and cares for its neighbors and surroundings. Jesus made clear that love for our neighbor is the greatest commandment. So we want to be a church that practices love and mercy toward our local residents and neighbors, partnering with the community as a healthy, exemplary servant church.
